Aerangis jacksonii

Plants are near flowering size 3” seedlings. With good culture expect these to flower in season 2019. These are mounted on small branches (see last photograph).

This species is native to Uganda in central Africa. It is a medium growing species with a leaf span of 5-7”. Plants will flower when the stems are ½” and will eventually grow to 3” at maturity. Inflorescences are 3” – 5” long and carry 3-8 flowers each. Individual flowers are ¾” – 1¼”. All parts are pure white. The spur is 2½” – 3” long and green or pinkish. Plants will grow well with Phalaenopsis but will proliferate and flower better with brighter light. Like most Aerangis they like HUMID conditions but not “wet feet”. A soggy medium will lead to root loss.  As a result plants are often mounted or planted in small slotted plastic baskets.
